Photography Competition

Welcome to Deeside Against Pylons Summer 2024 Photography Competition.

To celebrate the beauty of Deeside and the North East of Scotland we are launching this FREE to enter photo competition. The competition is open to anyone who loves our magnificent countryside, including residents current and past, friends and family, tourists etc. We are particularly looking for photographs taken within the Kintore to Tealing area (TKUP) These inland areas of Aberdeenshire and down through Angus will be hugely affected by SSEN’s plans to erect monstrously high pylons along the route.

The theme of the competition is “Our Countryside.” The theme is open to your personal interpretation but we’re looking for photographs that show of our rural landscape at its best. This competition will run for the rest of the Summer but hopefully there will be opportunities for some stunning Winter photographs in a future competition.

There are 2 categories:

• Adults.

• Children of primary school age.

There will be a top and runner up prize in each category.

Adults top prize will be a gift voucher to the value of £100. Runner up prize of £50.

Children’s top prize will be a gift voucher to the value of £50. Runner up prize of £25.

Closing date for the competition is 14th September 2024.

We aim to create a compilation of photographs for permanent display in local areas and to use photos for possible fundraising activities including marketing and merchandise. In this event permission will be sought from entrants for inclusion in these activities.
