Photography competition winners announced

We’re delighted to announce the winners of the Deeside Against Pylons Photography Competition.

First place: Fergus Archibald (photo taken from Durris opposite Drumoak, looking north west)

Second place: Amber Smith (taken at Drumgley – SSEN Proposed Route Plan A to B intersection, due west of Forfar – at the end of July 2024).

Third place: Iana Chtefan (taken in summer 2024 from Arbuthnott area looking across Mearns towards the West)

Thank you to Deeside Against Pylons volunteers Carol and Mike, in conjunction with Simon White (P&J photographer of the year 2023) for judging the competition.

There was an excellent number of photos received for the Deeside Against Pylons Summer 2024 Photography Competition and the organisers and judges thank all participants for their entries, all of which were a very high standard and made the judging extremely difficult.

They all reflected the beauty of the countryside we are trying to protect from the over industrialisation and destructive practices of energy companies in the North East of Scotland. The winning photos are a representation of areas affected along the TKUP route. We hope you like them too.
